Ah yes, the infamous L’as du fallafel in the Marais neighborhood of Paris. I was never a big fan of falafel. In fact, I didn’t even really know what a falafel was until I was dragged there after class one day by a friend who insisted that it’s absolutely the best thing ever.
Now I don’t exactly remember if the falafel that I had really lived up to all the hype because that was about two years ago; however, I did recently go back and try it out again. The verdict? Yes! It really is that good! And they know it too. In fact, they even have a notice posted at their entrance declaring that Lenny Kravitz loves it as well. La classe.
They also serve meat, such as shawarma and curry chicken, but you really gotta go for the falafel. Tip for the non French speaking, or anyone easily disoriented by a man (and sometimes two men) hollering things at you very quickly: just say simply “un falafel special” (or deux…or trois depending on how hungry you are). About 5 euros each.
